The Capitol Grille
The Capitol Grille, The Hermitage Hotel’s AAA Four Diamond-rated
restaurant, sits in an elegant setting and creates a relaxing mood for
any dining occasion. Located in what was originally the main dining
room, and then a private men’s club, the restaurant's menu features
creative interpretations of southern cuisine with an emphasis on
certified Tennessee Black Angus Beef, market fresh seafood and the
freshest and best available local products.
The menu features a la
carte components, with regionally and historically matched side dishes.
Complementing The Capitol Grille’s superb cuisine is The Hermitage
Hotel’s historical ambiance and refinement. The restaurant features the
city’s finest and most creative luncheon and dinner menus, an exclusive
wine list, and impeccable service.
The hotel’s $20 million
renovation has touched on all areas of the hotel, including The Grille.
The restaurant has a grand new entrance, gracious new furniture,
restored cornice work and wall murals illustrating depictions of
Adjacent to The Capitol Grille, the refurbished
Oak Bar offers a rich, clubby environment that has often earned it the
title of best bar in Nashville. The Francis Craig Orchestra entertained
Nashvillians from the Oak Bar and The Capitol Grille from 1929 to 1945 –
the longest running hotel gig on the books. Craig's orchestra was also
the first to broadcast over WSM and enjoyed phenomenal success with a
12-year show that was aired over the entire NBC network. In 1949, he
introduced a newcomer, Dinah Shore, who entertained his audience with a
new song entitled, “Near You.”
The Grille serves breakfast Monday
through Sunday from 6:30 am to 11:00 am. Lunch at The Grille is served
Monday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, and dinner is served
Monday through Sunday from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm. On Sundays, The Grille
features its renowned Sunday Brunch from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Oak
Bar serves drinks and a light fare from 11:30 am Monday through Saturday
and from noon on Sunday.
