This is one of the most beautiful, small, intimate hotels I can recall visitng. The staff is beyond superlative- each and every one of them. I stay in five star properties frequently and there is something about your hotel that rivals any other 5 Star. Perhaps it is the intimacy, maybe the southern charm and inherant manners and good breeding associated with the South. It shows, whatever it is and the Hermitage has it! You don't have that slick feel of a five star chain but a gracious home.

 We had stayed there for our 1st wedding anniversary. Every associate that we had encountered treated us as if we were the only guests at the hotel. William went above and beyond to deliver exceptional service as well as all others from valet, to guest services, the restaurant, bar, room service, bell service and room service. The room was very well appointed and very clean. We were very impressed and would highly recommend to others. We paid for great service and it was first class all of the way. Furthermore, we were pleasantly suprised that the flowers that my husband had ordered and the champaign my parents had sent us were waiting for us in our room when we had arrived. Great staff. The renovations have certainly revitalized the hotel and has restored its historic charm and character.

Tough to single any one person out, as they were all incredibly nice people who happened to be crackerjack professionals. I was honestly blown away by the level of service. I'd also like to mention the outstanding dinner I had on Friday (5/5) at the Capitol Grille. I travel alone fairly frequently, and sometimes am made to feel unwelcome when I dine alone. The staff at the Grille could not have been more welcoming or accomodating - that I was a woman dining alone was apparently a non-issue (to my great relief!) And the food...good Lord. Every mouthful was a delight. As for the room, I haven't slept that well in months. The prolonged soak I took post the aforementioned dinner in my wonderful deep tub might have had somthing to do with that, but the bed was so comfortable... I have been singing the praises of the Hermitage ever since my plane touched down back in New York. Thank you so much!
